deadPod

After months of loyal service, my iPod gave up the ghost last night, and now refuses to turn on, charge, or identify itself to any computer that it's plugged in to. It's still under warranty and I hear Apple's repair/replacement programme is quite good, so hopefully I should have a working one again soon. Hey, do you think I might end up with one of those snazzy new video iPods?

Update: It lives! It resurrected itself. Spontaneously. After I filed a repair order on apple.com. How embarrassing.

Same thigng happened to me, if you recall. I still have the iParcel to send it back to Apple setting next to my PC... I just hope I never have cause to use it.

Hi Chris,

First of all, I couldn't locate an email address for you, so this is my alternative.

A while back you posted about getting the wikipedia onto your ipod.

I too am interested in getting the wikipedia on the iPod, and I'm curious if you made any progress since your post. If you're interested, maybe we could work on this together.

I know lots of people have had the idea already for many different portable devices (palms, the zaurus [http://www.makezine.com/03/diy_zauruspedia/] etc.), but with the prevalence of iPods this project could really take off.

thanks,
Mac
